Marlins - Black & Blue

October and November are peak months for Mahi Mahi, Sailfish and Marlin in our calm, offshore waters out of Los Suenos Marina at the Los Suenos Resort. Whether you are looking for a delicious, fresh-caught dinner to share with your loved ones or pals over drinks and a blazing sunset, or hoping to cross hauling in a world-class Marlin or Sailfish off of your bucket-list, these fall months are red hot for Costa Rica sportsfishing.

Out on the water, we are seeing a big rise in Dorado, (Mahi Mahi). Peak months in the waters off the mid-Pacific coast of Los Suenos, Costa Rica for these acrobatic fish are October and November. Featuring brilliant shades of shimmering blues, greens, whites and yellows – these strong and swift fighters are as fun to catch as they are delicious to eat.

Big numbers of Big Marlins, (both Blue and Black), are keeping us busy offshore. Powerful and elusive, these spectacular fighters are ranging from 150-300 lbs., and are the absolute pinnacle of offshore sport fishing.

While Yellow Fin Tunas are dropping off in number as we move into autumn, the ones that we are seeing at this time of year are weighing it at approximately 100 lbs. or larger. Happening upon one of these big game fish while hunting offshore for Mahi Mahi, Sail or Marlin is always a real treat in the fall.

Inshore is as fertile as it gets right now, with Snappers, Jacks, Mackerel, Groupers and Roosterfish numbers showing incredibly strong and only getting stronger. Whether you want to be a part of the big chase off shore or kick back, troll and bend rods inshore, we’ve got some strong fishing going on right now.

It’s time to leave the chilling weather at home behind and go fishing in a place where the summer never ends. Let’s get out there! To make a fishing charter reservation, contact one of our agents today.
