Your Costa Rican Adventure Begins
As soon as you arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), your Zen Escape is underway. A friendly, bilingual driver from Adventure Tours Costa Rica will be waiting just outside the terminal to welcome you. Step into a clean, comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy a smooth ride toward the coast. Along the 90-minute journey to Jaco, you'll pass through charming towns and scenic countryside, with your driver offering local tips and fun facts along the way. On the second day of your Zen Escape, you'll be whisked away to to one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated natural areas—Manuel Antonio National Park. Accompanied by a certified naturalist guide, you’ll explore rich coastal rainforest teeming with life. This compact but biodiverse park is a haven for wildlife lovers, with chances to spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and dozens of tropical bird species as you walk the shaded trails.

For about $200 more per person, it's worth upgrading to the VIP package. We did have a great time on the tours and the hotel is nice but a bit noisy as it's right in the middle of Jaco. Overall we had a very good vacation.

Frequently Asked QUESTIONS
Are vacation packages chaperoned/guided?
We do not have chaperoned vacation packages though we have great guides. While we are always available and have a brick and mortar office located in downtown Jaco where you can stop by if you need us, we don’t hover! All of the transportation we offer includes a bilingual driver, and all tour activities are guided. Outside of that, you are free to entertain yourselves and explore on your own.
Do your packages include airfare?
Our vacation packages do not include airfare - you will need to purchase airfare separately. Once you have purchased your tickets, update us with your flight info so that we can make the necessary arrangements for pick up and drop off back off at the airport in accordance with your flight times.
Are your vacation packages "all-inclusive?"
“All-Inclusive Vacation” in Costa Rica has a slightly different meaning than it does elsewhere. This is because the kind of vacationing you will do in Costa Rica is different than the type of vacation you might take anywhere else. Our vacation packages include adventure tours, in-country travel and other elements that would make it very difficult to conform to scheduled meal times. Our vacation packages include: accommodations, all of your transportation, and all of the tours you will be doing while you are here. Some of the tours and accommodations may include meals, but outside of those, you will have the freedom to explore the wide variety of International restaurants and local cuisine we are famous for on your own terms. When you budget for your vacation package with us, you will need to consider your airfare, nightly entertainment, and any meals that are not included in the various tours that you will be doing each day.
What meals are included in your vacation packages?
Our vacation packages include accommodations, tours and transport. For the accommodations aspect of your package, you may choose either a hotel stay or a condo rental, depending on the location of your package. Should you choose the hotel option, breakfast is typically included during your stay. Condo rentals do not include any kind of meals, however they do have fully appointed kitchens where you may cook for yourselves. For the tours that you will be doing on your package: some of the tours in our vacation packages include meals, while others do not. The easiest way to learn which meals will be included during your vacation is to view the “Included” list on our website for the vacation package you are considering.
On what day of the week do your vacation packages start?
You may start any package we offer on any day of the week that works for you! Since our vacation packages are private, we can schedule them around your needs.
How many people will be sharing the vacation package with us?
All of our vacation packages are private, although some of the tours included in your package may not be. Your airport transportation and accommodations will always be private. On the Voyager, Zen Escape, Fisherman’s Dream and Adrenaline Adventure packages, some of tours, (ATV tours, fishing charters, etc.), will be private by default, while other tours, (ziplining, crocodile tours, etc.), will be include other adventurers. We feel that this gives guests plenty of privacy to enjoy their trip while giving them a chance to mingle with other adventure-seekers.
Will we have our own room on the vacation package?
We only offer private accommodations rentals. All condo rentals or hotel stays that you may purchase individually or that are included in our vacation packages are private and exclusively for your use during your stay there.
Can I add private airport transfers to my vacation package?
Yes! Our custom vacation packages usually feature private airport transfers, alongside a combination of VIP in-country private transport and localized tour transportation. You have the flexibility to collaborate with one of our agents at no extra cost to customize your itinerary according to your preferences by simply contacting us. Alternatively, you can choose to book each tour and transportation service separately online, giving you full control over your travel arrangements.
Do I need to book in advance?
The short answer is, ‘yes.’ The importance of booking ahead of time is impacted by several factors including: size of your group, flexibility of your schedule and types of tours or services you would like to book. If you would like to book a fishing charter, transportation, a tour package or a complete vacation package with us, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible to guarantee availability. Likewise, for larger groups we recommend advanced bookings to guarantee that we will have available spaces for all of the members of your group to go on the desired tours together. Finally, if you have a set schedule such as a wedding party or corporate event that leaves you with a small window of time for the tours you would like to do, advanced reservations are recommended so that we can do our best to accommodate you as your schedule and availability permits. The smaller your group and the more flexible your schedule is, the easier it will be for us to accommodate you with short notice. We will accommodate all reservation requests regardless of when you book if spaces remain, but without a reservation in place, all of the tours or services we offer are on a first come, first served basis.
