Following his college graduation, Captain MJ fished commercially for many years before turning his attention to competitive and big game sportfishing, where he has fished multiple locations including Mexico, Panama, the Carribean and the Galapagos Islands.

Since arriving in the Los Suenos marina over 8 years ago, Captain MJ has entered the 34’ L&H Walkaround Express in the Los Suenos Triple Crown, the IGFA Billfishing Championships, (where he took “Best Boat” with the L&H in 2015), and the Los Suenos Signature Series. Captain MJ has placed 1st, 2nd and 4th in the “Best Captain” category of the Offshore World Championships in the past 5 years. Together with his mate Randall, they claimed the coveted 1st place prize in the “Best Crew” category of the OWC in 2013.
