Captain James Smith was part of the team during the boat’s construction and mate Alberto, also a certified captain, was on board for its maiden voyage. Together these two seasoned seamen can guide you to some of the best fishing spots the fertile Central Pacific waters have to offer. Their expertise has landed the custom craft a slew of angling trophies including first place in the 2016 Offshore World Championship and first in the 2018 Pelagic Rockstar Tournament.

Whether you’re staying close to shore for epic inshore fishing or voyaging out to deeper waters for a full day of amazing offshore angling, you’ll appreciate the amenities of the Maverick along the way. You may ride up top with the crew to enjoy spectacular views across the calm waters as the team scouts for signs of fish. Or travel in air-conditioned comfort in the spacious salon below as twin Cat engines propel you along at a brisk 25 knots.

Charter Boat Fishing in Style

Don’t even think about packing a lunch. The crew provides a bountiful breakfast with fresh fruit and offers ample snacks with local favorites like fresh guacamole throughout the day. Their lunch burritos are almost as famous as their fishing success though you may opt for one of their gourmet sandwiches. But the tastiest treats come from the sea and your crew is skilled at cleaning and preparing catches which literally go from sea to table in a matter of minutes. Watch as they whip of fresher-than-fresh sushi and sashimi, or enjoy a cooking lesson and learn how to prepare roe from just-caught mahi-mahi.

All the equipment a pro angler could wish for is close at hand. For light-tackle inshore fishing to hauling in massive marlin or tuna, there are high-end Shimano rods and reels. The crew is adept in trolling techniques for offshore fishing that targets billfish, sailfish, wahoo and a variety of marlin. If you’d like to get in some reef fishing, they excel at combining live bait with artificial lures in deep drops for grouper and cubera snappers, among the many dinner-friendly catches found closer to shore.

Whether you head far offshore for deep see big game fishing, or trolling inshore for delcious table fish, you won’t be deprived of the comforts of home. There’s a bathroom with a modern electric marine toilet and a shower. The galley has a refrigerator and microwave, while the dinette converts into a day bed. There are also bunks to ensure you slumber in peace on the journey.

This Maverick has all you need for a successful time out on the water: a fine boat, world-class crew and top-notch equipment. Add in the creature comforts you deserve on your trip to Costa Rica and this fishing charter can make your big-game fishing dreams come true.
