Arigato Sushi Restaurant

The charming, open-air atmosphere of Arigato in downtown Jaco is the perfect setting to enjoy some of the freshest Sushi and most delicious traditional Japanese cuisine available in any Costa Rica restaurant. Though Arigato has been open for less than a year, it has already proven itself to be the new standard of Japanese fair in Jaco. Owned and operated by Chef Rudy Aizawa, (a Japanese native trained in the culinary arts of his native country,) and staffed with 3 additional Japanese Chefs, the food at Arigato is 100% authentic and prepared within view of this Jaco Restaurant’s many loyal patrons.

The dining room opens up right onto the main strip in Jaco, so flip-flops and board-shorts are never an issue.  You can feel free to stop in after your full-day Surfing Tour before heading back to your hotel or condo. With a casual dress code, an inviting atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff, and unparalleled cuisine, this reasonably priced Jaco Restaurant is a favorite amongst locals and vacationers alike. Watch for the daily specials which are always outstanding and can be seen posted on the sandwich-board on the sidewalk out front.

We recommend the Crunchy Avocado, Tuna and California Rolls with their delicious house-made sauces and only the freshest ingredients.  For appetizers, try the Miso Soup or a plate of delicious Edamame. The Donburi Rice Bowls are hard to beat. Don’t forget to order some delicious warm saki and the creamy Tempura Ice Cream in a Green Tea or Chocolate Sauce.

Taco Bar

Home of the $3 breakfast and the all-you-can-eat salad bar! Try Tacobar’s famous fish tacos prepared to order with your choice of beer-battered, coconut, spicy, or herbal seasoning. They also serve beef, chicken, shrimp, calamari and veggie Tacos, as well as amazing Yellow Fin Tuna steaks. Most of the menu dishes include an all-you-can-eat access to the exotic salad bar.

The swing-style bar seating and plenty of outside tables gives the atmosphere of a fun, laid back dining experience that is perfect for families, couples or singles alike. Diners can enjoy great prices and quick, friendly service in a beautifully lit open-air restaurant with a warm tropical vibe. All the cashiers are bilingual and very friendly.

We recommend the homemade Hummus, delicious Burritos, the signature Fish Tacos and the extraordinary 1 liter fruit smoothies. For beverages, try a traditional Italian cappuccino in the morning or the wonderful homemade Ginger-Mint Lemonade for a cool afternoon refreshment.

Graffiti Restro Café and Wine Bar

Tucked away in the far southern corner of a small shopping center off of the main strip in downtown Jaco, Graffiti Restro Café and Wine Bar serves outstanding cuisine in an intimate and funky setting. The graffiti covered walls inside this Jaco Restaurant give diners a whimsical look at the creative side of street art while the 5-Star culinary offerings of Owner and Executive Chef Danny Clark transcend any pedestrian expectations with an eclectic variety of mouth-watering entrees. A friendly, bilingual staff, reasonable prices and even the occasional live band make Graffiti a Jaco treasure.

We recommend the 10 oz. Coffee and Coco Encrusted Tenderloin Filet - a complete steal at only $19USD. Also not to be missed are the Grouper Filet in a succulent passion fruit sauce, the Macadamia Encrusted Catch of the Day or the thick and delicious Filet of Tuna.  For an appetizer try the Tuna Tartar Tower, or a variety of the other delicious Bocas. The wine-selection is fantastic, and you simply can’t go wrong with the house red.

Lemon Zest

Born in the Bahamas and classically trained in the United States, Lemon Zest owner and Executive Chef Richard Lemon offers a menu full of unique infusions, robust flavors and inspired plating designs which have impressed locals and vacationers alike for over six years. With an elegant second floor dining room, unique cuisine and an extensive wine list, Lemon Zest is a perfect option for couples in search of a romantic Jaco restaurant. Chef Lemon and his wife also offer wedding and rehearsal dinner services, private luncheons, bridal showers and birthday parties.

We recommend the succulent Grilled Filet Mignon in a Red Wine Reduction served with creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, the tropical favors of the Caribbean Style Jerk Pork Chop in Pineapple Chipotle BBQ Sauce, and the incredibly fresh Shrimp Penne Pasta with Sundried Tomatoes in a Garlic Herb Cream Sauce. For desert try the Banana’s Foster Cheesecake or Nellie’s Famous Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie.

Pachi's Pan

Located in downtown Jaco Costa Rica across the street from Mas x Menos sits one of the town's most beloved and delicious bakeries - Pachi’s Pan.  This is a local institution, and with good reason. The helpful, friendly staff and lightning-quick service will get you in and out in under 10 minutes even during their busiest breakfast rush.  The fresh soft breads, flaky pastries and extraordinary desserts will feed your whole group for pennies on the dollar.

We recommend the Croissants Con Crème which offer layers of soft pastry with just the right crispy crunch on the outside and an amazing cream custard filling.  Grab two croissants and a cup of fresh coffee for around $3. Also available are beautifully decorated and inexpensive cakes for your birthday or special occasion needs.

We hope you enjoy all of our Jaco Costa Rica restaurant recommendations on your amazing Costa Rica holiday.
