For more experienced rafters, the Class IV rapids of the Naranjo River boast a great half-day trip.
The river drops steeply from the Talamanca Mountains surrounding Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
Sections of overgrown jungle mixed with sections of vertical rock wall will be your scenery on this adventure.
Not for the squeamish, but not impossible for an ambitious first-timer.
